Description of tours or Itinerary
Ojo de agua by ometepe island
The water of this natural pool, known by the name of Ojo de Agua, comes directly from the Concepción Volcano. Being volcanic water, it is rich in potassium, magnesium, calcium, sulfur and sodium, which gives it properties to relieve fever, muscle aches, stress, certain allergies and, according to some people, even rejuvenates! This natural site was refurbished a few years ago and a second pool was built to welcome tourists in better conditions. It is a perfect place to relax, to be able to bathe without getting full of sand, and to be in the shade, surrounded by nature.

Tour river istian en ometepe islando by nicaragua traveling
One of the best places to see birds on Ometepe Island is the Istián River, located between the Maderas Volcano and Concepción Volcano parts of the island. The river is a sanctuary for resident and migratory birds and offers beautiful views and a natural environment. The most common way to get to the river is to rent a kayak in Mérida and then paddle from Mérida to its mouth along the lake. It takes about an hour to get to the river from Mérida and the view along the way is breathtaking. The dormant but mighty Maderas can be seen perfectly from the lake and the high and active Concepción is also part of the panorama. After entering the river, the birds are easy to spot. The bird list includes herons, jacanas, stilts and even predatory birds like the hawk, and many other animals. The river itself is not wide, but the vegetation around it is abundant. Paddling silently downstream is definitely a relaxing experience.
